Formed in 2016, the Rhapsody String Quartet is Northeast Iowa and the tri-state area's premier string quartet. Adding elegance and sophistication, we specialize in performing for weddings, receptions, cocktail hours, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, receptions, parties, and more. Our extensive repertoire includes traditional wedding music, classical string quartets, favorite pop and rock music, and personal requests. We will work with you to pick musical selections to fit the mood of your event. Our years of experience and expertise in music selection, timing, and professionalism will help make your occasion memorable, meaningful, and stress-free.
Each of our members has over 20 years of experience playing their respective stringed instruments and are highly trained with degrees and experiences from leading music schools. Additionally, we maintain active professional careers as freelance musicians and educators, bringing a variety of skills and talents to the group, including early music and folk music. As individuals, we are members of the LaCrosse Symphony and Oneota Valley Community Orchestra. Read more about each of us as individuals below.
Eden Ehm, violin
A classically trained violinist since the age of five, Eden has been performing professionally for over fifteen years. She is a section violinist in the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra and regularly subs with several area symphonies and chamber ensembles. Passionate about preserving the aural and oral culture of folk music, Eden is an avid fiddler and specializes in the Hardanger fiddle, the national folk instrument of Norway. Eden holds a Bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, where she studied violin with Nancy Oliveros, Francesca Anderegg, and her mentor on both violin and Hardanger fiddle Andrea Een. While there, she was a member of the world-renowned St. Olaf Orchestra. Eden looks forward to being a part of your special day!
Krista Holland, violin
Krista was brought up listening to her mom give Suzuki violin lessons in their home and began studying violin herself at four years old. Even if it meant tip-toeing around upstairs as to not disturb the lessons, she knows she was lucky to be exposed to music and become a violinist at a young age. Growing up, she attended many summer camps, shared her love for music at school and church, and formed her first string quartet in high school. In college, she was a member of the St. Olaf Orchestra. Krista continues to love playing, whether in community orchestras or string quartets. She currently serves as principal second violin of the Oneota Valley Community Orchestra.
